Syracuse, N.Y. - Destiny USA is taking legal action against a former tenant over unpaid rent.
The Ruby Tuesday at the mall closed in 2016 after the national chain decided to downsize.
The restaurant location remained empty because Ruby Tuesday continued paying the roughly $15,000 a month rent. But those payments stopped last August, leading Destiny USA officials to claim a breach of the restaurant's lease, which doesn't expire until 2023. M
all officials are asking for over a million dollars, which includes the missed rent payments, future payments and other costs.
The mall and restaurant chain aren't commenting on the lawsuit.
