Zoo Announces New Births

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announcing a new birth of two Black Welsh Mountain lambs at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.

Black Welsh Mountain ewe Belle gave birth to two lambs, a boy and a girl, on Monday, January 20.

County Executive McMahon said, “Our zoo is continuing to grow with the addition of these new baby lambs and they are truly very special. "With winter break quickly approaching, I encourage our families to come check out all the new additions to our zoo"

Black Welsh Mountain sheep are the only all-black sheep in Britain. They were bred over a century ago in the mountains of Wales.
