Washington, DC - Governor Cuomo will be at the White House today for a meeting with President Trump.
They're expected to discuss a recent Trump administration decision to prevent Empire State residents from taking part in travel programs that allow folks to quickly pass through airport checkpoints and borders. The Department of Homeland Security says the change was made in reaction to New York's Green Light Law, which allows undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses.
Federal officials say the policy is a problem since it prevents access to state DMV records. The governor says one possible compromise is DMV information will be shared on a case by case basis and only involve people applying for Trusted Traveler and Global Entry.
