Albany, N.Y. - The latest data from the state Department of Health shows the flu is continuing to spread rapidly across New York.
There were 13,000 confirmed cases of the virus during the week ending January 18th. That's a 22 percent increase from the week before.
One bit of good news is the number of people hospitalized due to complications from the flu was down five percent.
Doctors are continuing to urge folks who haven't received a flu shot to do so immediately
