Man Arrested In Connection With Weekend Syracuse Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse police have made an arrest in connection with a suspicious fire last weekend.

They say 28-year-old William Gayten purposely set the porch of a home on South Carbon Street on fire Saturday. Officials say his wife, another woman and two children were in the home at the time. They were able to escape and weren't hurt. In her statement to police, Gayten's wife says she believes her husband set the blaze because he was angry with her.

He's currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
