New York, N.Y. - An additional $45 million in funding will be going to religious-based institutions statewide to protect them from hate crimes.
Governor Cuomo made the announcement at a solidarity march in New York City yesterday. The funds are being made available through New York's Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes grant program. The governor says increased security is necessary following several recent anti-Semitic attacks.
