Syracuse, N.Y. - A burst of lake effect snow moving across Central New York has caused a series of crashes on the Thruway, blocking all lanes westbound between Exit 39 (I-90), State Fair (I-690), and Weedsport (Route 34).
Its reported that10 to 15 cars are either in ditches or are damaged and five to six tractor-trailers are also involved.
There are other accidents in the area as well.
A school bus rollover crash has been reported on the 500 block of North Main Street in Canastota. The bus is reportedly on its side.
Canastota Police say that the bus had no kids on board.The two adults who were on board suffered only minor hand injuries.
Elsewhere its slow going as the snow contiunes and the winds are picking up.
