Remsen, N.Y. - A 9-year-old is dead after a fire burnt out a home in Remsen early this morning.
Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies say that the child was trapped in the home and was trying to be rescued by two adults when firefighters arrived. Everett Newman was recovered from the second floor.
A 67-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were taken to the hospital. They both suffered severe injuries.
Fire investigators believe the fire spread from a wood stove on the first floor.
