Syracuse police arrest three men after a chase that ultimately shut down Route 81.
Officers saw someone fire a handgun from a vehicle Monday afternoon. An effort to stop the vehicle led to a chase from the city onto Route 81. Other officers were able to force the vehicle to slow the vehicle near the Nedrow exit. Shatiek Smith, Davion Garbutt, and Rakiem Spears all face criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment charges. In addition, Garbutt is one of those accused earlier this month with a July shooting in Elbridge.
