Portion Of South State Street To Be Closed For Distribution Day

Syracuse, N.Y. - Here a traffic note if you plan to be in the area of the Oncenter Wednesday.

Starting at 8:30 am, the 800 block of South State Street, between East Adams Street and Harrison Street, will be closed to regular traffic for the Salvation Army Christmas Bureau distribution. The street is expected to remain closed until 7:00pm, so that over 3,000 families can pick up food baskets and Christmas gifts.

Downtown motorists are asked to plan accordingly and use an alternative route to avoid delays.

Traffic attempting to travel south or looking to connect to Route 81 should utilize Montgomery Street or South Townsend Street as an alternative.

Traffic attempting to travel north should utilize South Warren Street or Townsend Street to their destination
