Fort Lauderdale, FLA - A retired Syracuse principal now living in Florida, has been charged with having a collection of child porn.
Frank Richard Beyer Jr.,was arrested in Fort Lauderdale in November after an investigation by the FBI.
75 year old Beyer, worked for the Syracuse city schools beginning in 1967 until his retirement 17 years ago in 2002. He worked as a teacher and administrator during that time.
FBI agents first began investigating Beyer after receiving a tip from Google that a user had uploaded child porn. After a search of Beyer’s home they found more than two dozen lewd photos and videos.
Beyer faces a minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years in prison for each count of possession of child porn.
