Syracuse police made a pair of arrests and recovered a weapon Sunday after a foot chase, thanks to a citizen complaint.
Officers were sent to Merriman Avenue just after 3:30 pm for a report of a suspicious person with a weapon, who turned out to be 22-year-old Laiteek Johnson. He was armed with a handgun and was in a pickup with other people inside. Johnson tried to escape on foot when officers located him, but he was captured after several blocks. A loaded handgun belonging to Johnson was also found. Pickup driver Teemonji Walker was also arrested. Both face weapons and drug charges.
