Aurelius, N.Y. - Cayuga County Sheriff's have arrested a man for driving drunk and slamming into a school bus this morning.
Deputies say 29-year-old David John-Paul Bassett, of Auburn crashed into a school bus around 7 in the morning.
The Union Springs School District bus had nine students on board at the times of the crash on Rt. 5 and Rt. 20 in the Town of Aurelius. No one was hurt. Bassett's blood-alcohol level was above .08 percent.
He is charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and following too close.
