Siren Test In Oswego Tuesday

Oswego, N.Y. - If you live or are in the area of Oswego Tuesday around 1 in the afternoon don't panic if you hear sirens.

Exelon Generation will be conducting a test of their emergency sirens near the FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant and Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station. During the test, 40 sirens in the 10-mile radius surrounding the plants will sound for three to five minutes. Additional single-siren tests may be conducted throughout the day.

If it were an actual emergency, the sirens would sound to alert the public to tune in to a local Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio or television station for information.
