Chief Of Oswego Police Department Announces Retirement

Oswego, N.Y. - The chief of the Oswego Police Department says he's planning to retire in January.

Tory DeCaire has been the department's top cop since May 2011 and has spent a total of 22 years on the force. DeCaire said he originally planned to retire two years ago but changed his mind after hearing Mayor Billy Barlow's plans for the city's future.

In a statement, Barlow praised DeCaire for making city residents feel safer and cutting overtime costs
