Busy Week Expected At Syracuse Hancock International Airport

Syracuse, N.Y. - If you're planning to fly out of Syracuse Hancock International Airport this week, you definitely won't be alone.

Officials say they're expecting a 17-percent increase in travelers this week compared to Thanksgiving week last year. The busiest travel days here in Syracuse will be today, Saturday and Sunday.

NewsRadio 570 WSYR Aviation Expert Jay Ratliff says you must arrive at least two hours before your flight and don't dawdle in getting through security. He also says that make sure when you confirm your flight, that you have a seat assignment. If you don't have an assigned seat, you are technically on stand-by.

The airport will also likely open its overflow parking lot due to the large number of travelers.
