Arrest Made In Recent Graffiti Found On SU Campus

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety and the Syracuse Police Department has made an arrest after a series of "new" graffiti was discovered on campus Wednesday

18 year old Kym McGowan, of Syracuse, has been arrested and charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and making graffiti, both misdemeanors.

McGowan is accused of being associated with four incidents of graffiti in and around the Irving Garage and Bird Library.

Authorities say it appears that graffiti was intended to be in support of the campus protests.

McGowan was released on an appearance ticket.​

Police are still looking for those who are responsible for several incidents of racist graffiti found on the campus, and now in the city of Syraucse. Those incidents resulted in daysof protests by many sutdents who wound up making demands of SU Chancellor Kent Syverud. Syverud has agreed to the demands.
