North Syracuse Man Pretends Top Be A Cop, Assaults Woman

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Sheriff's have arrested a man for impersonating an officer and assaulting a woman.

34 year old Steven Delariva of North Syracuse is facing a variety of charges after using an internet escort site to lure a woman to meet him. The woman contacted authorities saying Delariva picked her up in a dark colored truck and drove her to a residence in North Syracuse. The victim says he claimed to be a law enforcement officer and allegedly held her against her will, choked her and stole her money before dropping her off in the City of Syracuse.

Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the incident and believe there may be additional victims.

He faces charges of felony criminal impersonation in the 1st degree, grand larceny in the 4th degree, unlawful imprisonment in the 2nd degree, criminal obstruction of breathing and patronizing a prostitute in the 3rd degree.
