Clay, N.Y. - A proposed distribution center in Clay is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The town board has voted to change the zoning on an over 100-acre site at Morgan Road and the Liverpool Bypass from recreational to industrial. The site is the current location of the Liverpool Public Golf and Country Club.
"It's not often that a town or a county gets a project dropped in their laps that will bring 1,000 jobs to the area," says Clay Town Supervisor Damien Ulatowski following the unanimous vote. He has high hopes that the facility will spur future growth and be a catalyst for other supporting industries.
The name of the company that wants to build a nearly four-million square foot distribution facility on the property hasn't been made public.
