Syracuse, N.Y. - A third man accused of being involved in the murder of a 12-year-old boy will be going on trial.
Prosecutors say Anthony Rodriguez agreed to plead guilty to a criminal possession of a weapon charge following the October 2018 death of James Springer, III. But, prosecutors say that deal is off the table since Rodriguez wouldn't testify against Johanen Pizarro, who was acquitted Tuesday of firing the shot that killed Springer. Rodriguez was serving as Pizarro's getaway driver and will go on trial in March.
Alberto Pinet, the man who ordered the shooting, is facing 12 years in prison.
Police say Springer wasn't the intended target.
