Syracuse, N.Y. - Winter will be here before you know it, but more Syracuse residents won't have to worry about removing snow from their sidewalks.
The Common Council has approved an expansion of the city's sidewalk snow removal program. 76 miles of city sidewalks will be cleared this winter, up from 20 miles last year.
JSK Snow Services will again be responsible for clearing the walkways. They says they plan to hire a few more local people for the winter. The increased service will cost the city up to $250,000.
