Oswego, N.Y. - Yesterday Oswego Firefighters were called to respond to two men in the river around noon.
They say the boater and his passenger fell out of their boat.
One of the victims, a 71 year old male was able to stay above water by holding onto the side of a boat. The other victim, a 70 year old male, was submerged for several minutes before being rescued.
Despite life saving efforts, the 70 year old male, was pronounced dead by medical staff shortly after arrival.
The other victim, the 71 year old male, was treated and released.
Both victims were from Pennsylvania, visiting Oswego on a fishing trip and both males were wearing personal flotation devices at the time of the accident.
