Syracuse, N.Y. - The driver blamed for causing a crash that sent two babies to the hospital this week is being ticketed.
Troopers say that a woman was driving slowly due to traffic when 28 year old Cody Mothersell slammed into the back of her car. The crash sent the woman careening toward a tractor-trailer. She managed to swerve and avoid it, but she drove into a guardrail. Both vehicles slid along the rail for about 75 feet before coming to a stop.
A 1-year-old and 3-month-old are still being treated at the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital for serious head injuries. The 1-year-old was critically hurt.
State Police ticketed Mothersell for following too closely and for failure to reduce speed under special hazards.
