Poverty Rate Down In Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. - There are new indicators of economic growth in Central New York's Urban Core.

A new report shows the poverty rate in Syracuse is at its lowest level in years.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 30-percent of people were living in poverty last year. That's a nearly two-percent drop from 2017.

Mayor Ben Walsh says while there are some encouraging signs, there's still work to be done.
