Salina, N.Y. - One of Central New York's biggest employers is in line to receive an up to $3 billion contract.
The U.S. Army has picked the Lockheed Martin plant in Salina to build the next generation of radars that are used for short-range air defenses. The plant already has roughly 1,700 employees and applications are being accepted to fill more positions.
The contract is the largest in the history of local plant. Senator Chuck Schumer says this agreement will likely protect production at the facility over the next 20 years.
