Gov. Cuomo Signs Law Extending Statute Of Limitations In Some Rape Cases

New York - Governor Cuomo has signed a bill extending the statute of limitations in certain rape cases.

Flanked by members of the "Time's Up" movement, the governor explained that for charges of rape in the second-degree accusers now have 20-years to take action, while for charges in the third-degree the statute of limitations is extended to 10-years.

Actress Mira Sorvino, an advocate for victim's rights and a member of the "Time's Up" movement, says changing the law shows that sexual abusers can no longer operate without fear of consequence.
