Marcellus, N.Y. - The Marcellus Post Office is back in business.
The post office on East Main Street shut down on Aug. 26 after someone had illegally mailed package containing mercury.
The post office had to bring in professional environmental contractors and regulators to assess and clean up the spill and make sure the post office is safe. That process was finished Sunday.
All of the mail inside the East Main Street location had to be tested and cleaned before delivery.
Officials say the package was sent from Rochester, but they're still trying to track down the person responsible.
A clean up at a postal processing facility there and in Syracuse was also needed.
