Elections Commissioner Accused Of Driving For Uber & Lyft On County Time

A Board of Elections official has been accused of driving for Uber and Lyft during his office hours.

Onondaga County Comptroller Matthew Beadnell announced in a press conference this morning that Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny was using county time to make extra cash as a rideshare driver. Since 2017, Czarny has put in over 90 hours through Uber and Lyft. His side job was reported by a citizen, which prompted auditors to investigate.

Czarny made a reported $5300 driving for Uber and Lyft, which, according to Beadnell, is considered county money.
