Mosquito Spraying In Cicero Swamp Delayed

Cicero, N.Y. - The weather did not cooperate for Onondaga County health officials hoping to kill disease ridden mosquitoes last night.

Aerial spraying scheduled for last night in the Cicero Swamp area was delayed.

Crews will now head out again tomorrow night to try and eliminate mosquitoes.

Some have tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile.

You're reminded that people and pets should stay inside with the windows closed and doors shut during the spray if you live near the swamp.

Earlier this month, spraying of the Toad Harbor Swamp was delayed for nearly a week due to weather. Mosquitoes there tested positive for Triple-E.
