Fayetteville, N.Y. - Fayetteville-Manlius school officials says their students were the victims of a nationwide data breach.
Data Security Company Pearson Clinical Assessment says that a third-party provider of an online student assessment tool used by the district was hacked.
District officials were told that hackers were able to get to the student's personal information. The information includes names, birth dates, and email addresses. Pearson has provided no information that the data was misused.
The data breach is impacting other students in New York and across the country.
