Geddes, N.Y. - Today is the first Friday of the 2019 Great New York State Fair.
Today the Fair is celebrating New Americans with an 11 a.m. Naturalization ceremony. 100 men and women will be raising their arms to the square and making an oath becoming citizens of the United States. It is open to the public and is a sight to behold.
It is also Pride Day, celebrating LGBTQ New Yorkers. Stonewall rioter Martin Davis will be speaking about the events and the 50 years since today at 4:00 p.m. All of they day's events can be found here.
