Troopers Arrest 4 Teens Who Crashed Stolen Car

State police arrest four Syracuse teenagers who led police on a chase and ultimately crashed their stolen car in a ditch in Camillus.

Troopers from Elbridge were attempting to stop a vehicle on West Genesee Street around 1:30am Sunday when the car sped off and the troopers pursued. It came to an end when the driver lost control at Hindsdale and Warners Road and drove over an embankment into a ditch. Troopers arrested the four occupants inside and determined the vehicle was stolen from a dealer on Hiawatha Boulevard.

Police made the following arrests:

  • A 17-year-old male from Syracuse, NY was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree (D felony), Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, and Criminal Mischief 4th degree, both misdemeanors.
  • Aerick V. Brooks, age 19 from Syracuse, NY was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree (D felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, and Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs/alcohol (1192-4/a), both misdemeanors.
  • A 17-year-old female from Syracuse, NY was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
  • An 18-year-old male from Syracuse, NY was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
