DeWitt, N.Y. - A man is accused of poaching a goose at a DeWitt gas station.
State Environmental Conservation Officers say the man lured a gaggle of geese in with crackers, then grabbed one and strangled it. He then put it in his van and drove off.
The man is charged with taking waterfowl out of season and illegally taking protected wildlife. He faces fines up to $250 and jail time of up to 15 days on each charge.
