Jamesville Beach Reopens For Swimming

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Onondaga County Health Department announced today that Jamesville Beach is approved to be reopened for swimming.

This comes after lab tests indicated that the water is safe to swim in.

The beach was closed on July 9 due to visual presence of an algal bloom that has since dissipated.

Certain types of algae can release toxins that may cause skin or eye irritation, or diarrhea and vomiting if ingested.

The news of Jamesville Beach reopening comes just a day after Oneida Shores Beach was closed after presence of E.Coli was discovered.
