Chili's Double Murder Accomplice Takes Last-Minute Plea Deal

The only person to go on trial in the Dewitt Chili's murders will instead take a plea deal.

Ronald Green, whose trial was set to begin today, made a guilty plea to robbery charges just moments before a jury was to be selected for his trial. The deal means that murder charges against Green will be dropped in exchange for his cooperation against admitted killer William Wood in a federal case that could lead to the death penalty . Green was accused of being the getaway driver for Wood, who murdered Stephen Gudknecht and Kristopher Hicks. Green will be sentenced in October and will receive 17 to 20 years in prison.
