Syracuse Man Shoots Dog, Leaves It To Die On Side Of 481

Dewitt, N.Y. - SPCA Chief Investigator William Pulaski says 68 year old Melvin Flanagan drove his severely injuried dog to an area on Route 481,shot the dog and left it to die on the side of the road.

The dog was found hours later by a passerby who called 911.

It was taken to a Veterinary hospital and had to be euthanized due to the extent of it's injuries.

Flanagan was charged one count of Felony Aggravated Cruelty to an animal.
