Three More Meetings On 81 Project To Be Held This Week

Syracuse, N.Y. - New York DOT will hold three open meetings this week about the Interstate 81 project.

The meetings are in Camillus, East Syracuse and at Dr. King Elementary School, is at the edge of the $2 billion project.

The first meeting is Tuesday night at the Town of Camillus Municipal Building 6 to 8, Wednesday night at East Syracuse Minoa High School, 6 to 8 and Thursday at Dr. King Elementary School at 3 to 5 and again 6 to 8.

The state is proposing to tear down the part of I-81 that runs between downtown and the University Hill area turning it into a street level grid with highway traffic being rerouted onto Interstate 481, which would become a part of I-81.
