Syracuse Police Again Intervene To Stop Possible Suicide

Syracuse police act a second time this week to stop someone from possibly taking their life.

Officers were sent to the Harrison Garage downtown Monday around 3pm about a middle-aged woman standing on the ledge of the 7th floor who callers said was standing as if she might jump. Detective Scott Clarke got to the scene first and tried to speak with the woman, who did not say anything. Meanwhile, Officers Erik Heppeler, Brent Potts, Cody Nellis, and Travis Rheinheimer arrived at the scene. Concerned that she was at risk of falling, the officers got behind the woman while Detective Clarke continued to talk to the woman and pulled her to safety. No one was hurt. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
