UPDATE: The 74 year old man who was shot has died. He is identified as DeWayne Watkins of 319 W. Calthrop Ave.
racuse, N.Y. - A little after 10 this morning Police responded to an officer involved shooting.
A 74-year-old man was shot by a Syracuse officer on the city’s South Side. Police Chief Kenton Buckner says the man was shot after he pointed a gun at officers on West Calthrop Avenue.
Syracuse Fire Department responded for a medical call at that West Calthrop Ave and then ask for police backup. The man was in stable condition according to Chief Buckner.
