Albany, N.Y. - The state gaming commission has finalized some rules for legal sports betting in New York:
The rules would allow gamblers to make bets at betting lounges at the four state-licensed casinos such as del Lago, and at the Native American casinos, such as Turning Stone. Although it is now legal sports books aren't expected to begin operating until August.
State lawmakers are working on some bills to revise the rules. Most significantly is a proposal to allow online betting through mobile devices or home computers.
