Syracuse, N.Y. - For those who live along the shore of Lake Ontario, the worse may be over.
Th International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board has said that water levels have started to stabilize. High outflows combined with forecasts of warmer, drier conditions in the next week, make it likely that the Lake is at or very near its peak level.
The lake still could rise if more rain falls but probably not much more than an inch.
A state of emergency still remains for lakeshore counties, and boats must abide by a 5 miles per hour speed limit within 1,000 feet of shore
