Syracuse, N.Y. - Bystanders helped a man this morning who had jumped off the bridge near the 81 and 481 interchange south of the city.
Witnesses say a man climbed over the railing on East Brighton Ave and was threatening to jump.
People stopped, called 911 and were trying to talk to the man, encouraging him not to jump. He did jump however landing on 481.
The bystanders rushed down and pulled him off the road.
Syracuse Police and firefighters responded to the scene.
Officials say the man was awake and talking when rescue crews arrived.
The extent of his injuries iss not known at this time.
