Syracuse Common Council Approves 5G For Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Common Council has approved a deal with Verizon to install 5G data network throughout Syracuse.

The vote was 5 - 3. The council had been going over the agreement with a fine tooth comb. The agreement gives Verizon permission to erect 5G antennas on city-owned street lights, creating a high-speed wireless data network.

With the deal, Syracuse will be among the first cities in the nation with citywide 5G.

Some have voiced concerns about the health effects on the residents with so many wireless signals covering the city.
