State Senate Passes Change To The Seat Belt Law

Albany, N.Y. - The state Senate has given the green light to a new seat belt law.

The legislation would require adults to wear the safety devices while sitting in the back of vehicles. Right now, they only have to wear them if they're sitting in the front. Limousines, taxis and buses would be exempt from the new rule.

The Assembly is expected to vote on the measure before the legislative session ends next month.
