Sodus, N.Y. - A trial starts today in Wayne County in the killings of a Sodus couple.
Timothy Dean, a former Police Chief from Texas, is charged with murder, weapon and conspiracy charges in the shooting deaths last October of Joshua Niles and Niles' girlfriend Amber Washburn.

The victims were gunned down outside their home.
Investigators say Dean's wife ,Charlene Childers, had lost a child custody battle with Niles. She pleaded guilty to manslaughter. A third man charged in the conspiracy also pleaded guilty.
