Cicero, N.Y. -There will be no swimming at a beach in Cicero.
Parks and Recreation Director Jody Rogers says Joseph William Beach on Oneida Lake will not open for public swimming. They say they were unable to find enough lifeguards.
William Park’s picnic shelters will still be available to reserve this summer and people can still fish from the floating dock or take a kayak or canoe into the water.
Town leaders are encouraging people to swim at Oneida Shores Beach instead.
