Utica, N.Y. - U.S. Rep. Anthony Brindisi has fired an aide in his Utica office

57 year old John A. Stemen was charged after an investigation showed he was involved with a 17-year-old who he admitted to meeting via the internet and paying $200 for a sexual date.

Stemen was an aide for Anthony Brindisi.

A spokeswoman for Brindisi said Stemen was fired yesterday after the congressman became aware of the prostitution charge.
