Syracuse, N.Y. - There are a couple of road closures taking place starting Monday.
New York State DOT is advising area motorists to be aware some lanes may be closed on Erie Boulevard East between Bridge Street and Genesee Street. Crews will be paving in that area.
Starting Monday night drivers should expect lane closures in both eastbound and westbound lanes beginning at 6 and continuing through the overnight.
Work is expected to continue until Friday depending on the weather.
Meanwhile Vine Street in Liverpool will temporarily close beginning early Monday morning as part of the ongoing replacement of bridges carrying the NYS Thruway (I-90) over Vine Street and the CSX Railroad in Liverpool
Currently in the final phase of construction, contractors will use this closure to erect major components of the Vine Street and CSX bridges, including abutments, highway approaches, and bridge decking.
The closure is expected to last about five weeks, depending on the weather.
During the scheduled closure, Vine Street will be closed to all traffic from Commerce Boulevard to Seventh Street.
Motorists are also reminded that fines are doubled for work zone violations.
