Syracuse native and former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe says he's not running for president.
The Democrat said he decided against a 2020 White House campaign because lawmakers in Virginia need his help.
McAuliffe also told The Washington Post that with the field of Democratic candidates likely to be large, he was concerned about getting his message out to the American people.
McAuliffe had been considering a presidential bid since 2018 after his term as Virginia governor ended.
