SAVE 81 Releases Report

Syracuse, N.Y. - Save 81, The group organized against a “community grid” to replace Interstate 81 in downtown Syracuse has finally releaded their report that supports their view.

The 12,000-page document evaluates two alternatives for the aging highway: tearing it down for a “community grid” or building a new elevated highway.

The group says the report backs up what they’ve been saying, taking the highway down and not building a high-speed alternative in its place with choke city streets with congestion, causing pollution and grid-lock for decades to come.

The group finally rekleased the report amid criticism from “community grid” supporters who accused the group of dirty tactics and cherry picking information from the report without releasing it.

The DEIS may be downloaded at Save 81’s website.
